I actually used two Decipher products: Decipher Backup Repair and Decipher Backup Browser.

My iPhone backup to my PC was incomplete, and Decipher Backup Repair was able to repair it successfully. I became frustrated during the process of restoring the backup to my phone, but the issues turned out to be Apple-related, not Decipher-related.

Decipher Backup Browser was equally impressive. I used it to pull my photos from the backup onto my PC, and to my delight, the photos were automatically organized into folders by year, then month, and then day. It may sound like a small thing, but it made organizing thousands of photos incredibly easy and saved me a tremendous amount of time.

Both products were outstanding and did exactly what they were supposed to do. Along the way I discovered that some of the biggest hurdles weren’t caused by Decipher at all, but by Apple’s ecosystem. At times it felt like the machine was fighting me every step of the way! For example, I was shocked to discover that Apple won’t allow HEIC photos to be uploaded from a PC to iCloud Photos—even though HEIC is Apple’s preferred photo format on the iPhone. 🤯

What really sets Decipher apart is their customer service. Their team went above and beyond to help me recover my photos and navigate a very frustrating situation. They were responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping me succeed.

Initially it would repeatedly crash. I contacted Kelly. Kelly provided fast support by sending me a special link which fixed the issue first time. Now product works impressively well. I learned of the Decipher TextMessage Tool from my daughter which helped her save/protect some very important text messages. Bought this software to extract and print/store WhatsApp chats from my Android Pixel 8. Downloading and installing was no problem. But, and there is always one of these "buts": when I came to use it, all the helpful "advice/tips" were for iPhone users. I am not sure whether this said something about iPhone users or me! In any case, I emailed Support and received the advice I needed, almost by return. I am still learning the software, but I can certainly recommend the support team. And the software itself does seem capable of doing what it says on the tin, if I can ever find the tin!
