How to Force Reminders to Sync / Update on iPhone

I use the Reminders app for my grocery lists. When I add items from my computer, or my husband adds things to our shared lists, they don't update on my iPhone for quite a while and I have to refresh them manually. Here's how to force an update of your Reminders on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch:

  1. Open the Calendars app on your iPhone.

  2. Tap the Calendars button at the bottom of the screen.

  3. Pull down on the list of Calendar accounts to refresh your accounts. This will refresh your calendars, which includes updating Notes and Reminders.

To sync reminders, open the calendar app and tap Calendar at the bottom of the screen

Touch and drag down (aka pull down) to sync your Calendar accounts, which will update your iPhone Reminder app reminders.

Doesn't work anymore, or least not for me

How out of date are your reminders? We should see if it's an account issue. Is it an iCloud account reminders, or another calendar account?

Only a day out of date.
Once I added a new reminder, or edited one, they updated. In the past, the Calendar trick has worked, but not consistently. It's a shame Apple ignores the Reminder program. It's very useful.
