Today we pushed out a new update to Decipher TextMessage, with some great changes for encrypted backups and viewing deleted text messages on iPhone. Here are some of the major changes:

  • We added an "aggressive" deleted text message "fragments" option which will recover a lot more "fragments" of deleted text messages. As part of the deleted text message recovery process, we encounter plenty of data that we can't make sense of, but it may contain useful message information. We show a lot more of that now in the "fragments" section, to give you an opportunity to review it for useful information.

  • Decipher TextMessage now supports encrypted backups! During the new backup import process, you will be prompted to enter a password for new encrypted backups. You can always skip a backup by pressing cancel if you don't want to read it, or don't know the password.

  • As always, various bug fixes as we find them and as our wonderful customers give us feedback!

If you need to view deleted messages on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, you can download Decipher TextMessage from our website. Also check out our step-by-step guide for viewing deleted text messages on iPhone from a previous post.
